Ward 11 is a general psychiatric, protective ward with 16 beds. Patients come to us as part of the regular care of the district with a medical referral or directly via one of our outpatient clinics. Patients from the open wards of the hospital can also be admitted at short notice for crisis intervention.
We mainly treat patients with acute psychiatric illnesses.
- Psychoses
- depressions
- Anxiety disorders
- Personality disorders
- Crisis situations
In the case of patients with an existing danger to themselves or others, the ward takes over the treatment according to the PsychKHG BW or the care law according to BGB. Parallel to this, a detailed diagnostic clarification of the existing illness is carried out, if necessary in close cooperation with the other departments of the University Hospital.

Information for relatives

The sudden onset of psychiatric symptoms in particular often leaves relatives with questions and fears. In the acute situation, the team is often forced to concentrate entirely on the care of the patient. In addition, the ward team and the doctors are always available to answer their questions. We also try to answer questions and provide information about the underlying disorder during individual discussions with the patient and relatives.
